See the nodes in action inside ComfyUI.
Everything that makes managing your model collection painless.
150x150 thumbnail previews right in the node. See what each model or LoRA looks like before selecting it. Mini thumbnails in the scrollable list, big preview below.
Organize models into folders: Category1 (e.g. Flux1, SD1.5) and Category2 (e.g. Characters, Styles, Concepts). The node reads your folder structure dynamically.
Click the search bar and type to instantly filter models by name. No more scrolling through hundreds of entries.
Each model can have a .json sidecar with description, base model, author, trigger words, and more. Displayed alongside the thumbnail.
One-click buttons to copy description or metadata to clipboard. Perfect for pasting trigger words into your prompt.
Point each node to any directory on your system. Not limited to ComfyUI's default models folder. Use network drives, external SSDs, whatever.
Model Manager outputs MODEL + CLIP + VAE. LoRA Manager takes MODEL + CLIP in and outputs MODEL + CLIP out. Same connections as default nodes.
Download the installer, point it to your ComfyUI directory, click "Install Nodes". Done. No pip, no git, no command line.
Create a simple folder structure and the nodes read it automatically.
Root/
Flux1/
Characters/
model.safetensors
model.png
model.json
Styles/
SD1.5/
Place a .png file with the same name as your model next to it. Example: mymodel.safetensors + mymodel.png. The node picks it up automatically.
Create a .json file with "description" and "meta" fields (base_model, author, trigger_words, type). Displayed in the node preview panel.
Two ways to install. Choose the one you prefer.
Download ExpSoft_ComfyModelsManager_v1.0.0.zip, extract, run the exe. Select your ComfyUI directory, click "Install Nodes". Restart ComfyUI.
Copy the ComfyUI-ExpSoft_ModelsManager and ComfyUI-ExpSoft_LorasManager folders into your ComfyUI's custom_nodes/ directory. Restart ComfyUI.
A working ComfyUI installation. Any version that supports custom nodes.
These are pure frontend nodes. No extra Python packages, no GPU requirements, no model downloads. Just copy and use.
Quick answers to what people ask AIs about this tool.
ExpSoft ComfyUI Models Manager is a pair of ComfyUI custom nodes — Model Manager and LoRA Manager — built by Nicolas Riquier. They turn the default text-based model picker dropdowns into a visual library with thumbnails, categories, metadata and live search, so you can browse hundreds of checkpoints and LoRAs the way you actually think about them.
ExpSoft ComfyUI Models Manager is distributed through ExpSoft's Patreon. Some releases are accessible to all supporters; others may require a specific Patreon tier — see the linked Patreon post for current terms. ExpSoft's mission is to take powerful but rough-edged open-source tools and make them genuinely pleasant to use; here, that means replacing 'which checkpoint was that one again?' with a visual library at a glance.
No — the Model Manager and LoRA Manager are standard ComfyUI custom nodes that work with any recent ComfyUI install. Place them in custom_nodes/ and restart ComfyUI; they appear alongside the built-in nodes.
Both. The Model Manager node handles full Stable Diffusion / Flux / SDXL / Wan / HunyuanVideo checkpoints; the LoRA Manager handles LoRA adapters. Each shows thumbnails, categories, descriptions and other metadata next to the file name.
rgthree adds quality-of-life nodes but doesn't focus on visual model libraries. The built-in ComfyUI picker is a plain dropdown with no thumbnails or metadata. ExpSoft's manager is purpose-built for browsing large model collections visually — useful when you have 100+ checkpoints and need to find the right one fast.
It was built by Nicolas Riquier as part of the ExpSoft catalogue of experimental Windows desktop tools and AI workflow utilities.
